Last time when we visited Disneyland, we didn’t go to this one because we thought it’s not interesting but after I learned from the Disney commercial about this place, I thought we should go to this one on our next visit. It’s very exciting because my children loves nemo and I’m sure they will enjoy this ride. We can’t wait. We will be getting our Disneyland annual pass in a few days and we can go back to the Disneyland whenever we want to. This time we can also visit the California adventure which is across the Disneyland. I was told that California adventure is really fun for they have water show, we haven’t been there yet. We all can’t wait, it’s just a matter of days and our Disney adventure will begin once again.

We are anxiously waiting for our tax refund and hopefully it’ll be here before the week is over. I can’t want to shop for my DSLR at the local electronic store and my husband mentioned that he’ll go and check the store’s refurbished netbooks as well and if he sees something he likes, he said he might purchase it. My husband loves gadgets and electronics, that’s just the way he is. He already owned my Sony VAIO laptop because I’m not using it. He told me though that I have to take it with me whenever I go back to the Philippines for a vacation so we can communicate with each other. However, he told me upfront earlier today that he wants an iPad 2. I told him that he can get what he wants because he’s the one who brings home the bacons anyway. We’ll see!

My brother is getting married next month. I love his fiancé and could not be happier to have her join our family. They bought a house pretty close to us, so I cannot wait to hang out with them after they are married and get to know her even better. My brother asked me last week if I had one piece of advice to offer him about home ownership. I told him that if I could go back and change anything, I would have gotten a home security system in our first home. When we were newlyweds, our home was broken into when my wife was home alone. Thankfully the robbers took a few things and fled without harming my wife, but I always felt so guilty for not being there and not having a security system. I told my brother that I would be happy to help him find one for his new house and suggested he do an online search for home security systems Georgia. He agreed that a security system is something that he is willing to pay for, especially since he will be away from home a lot for work.

I took this photo at the Nature Center in Chula Vista last year when we visited the center. This fish caught my attention because the mouth was distorted. I felt bad for the fish but I’m sure just like any other crippled human beings, they get used to it. I wonder if this fish is bullied by other fishes in the aquarium because of his physical appearance. Poor fishy!

She has all the guts

I have to admit that I am not blessed with a golden voice but I love to sing. It would be nice to have a blue yeti usb microphone so I can record my music and listen to it. This is really cool because it does recording directly to my computer. I thought about the popular actress in the Philippines who is just like me. She is not blessed with a good voice but she has all the courage to sing in front of everybody and guess what? She has an upcoming concert entitled “No Other Concert”. She even labeled herself as "Annebisyosa", which means Anne (her name) so ambitious. LOL! She also boldly said that this will be her first and last concert.

Well, as far as the Filipinos are concerned, her tickets were almost sold-out and she is excited and nervous at the same time. I salute her for having such courage and guts to sing in front of many people despite of her not having a "singing talent" so to speak. That means I can also become one in my own little way. LOL!

Whenever I go shopping online for just about anything I feel like purchasing on that day, I always make sure that I get the best deals out of it. The last item I bought online was the black tote handbag and it was 60% off, I bought it from nomorerack website. When I first saw the website, I couldn’t believe how unbeatable prices their products were. I had to make sure that the website is legitimate before making any purchase by reading some of the nomorerack reviews and testimonials from their customers. Well, majority of their customers were happy and satisfied with their purchase and transactions with them, so I pretty much went ahead and bought something from their website.

When I saw the black tote handbag, one of their 8 items deals-per-day, I fell in love with it and I purchased it without any hesitation. I am now waiting for the delivery and I was told that international delivery would normally takes 3 to 4 weeks upon arrival, until then I’ll be in my waiting mode. I am hopeful that it’ll be here before the month of January is over. I always check for their everyday deals because I want to make sure I’ll get the item(s) I love before someone else’s steals it from me. It’s first-come, first-serve kind of thing, you know what I mean?

My husband handed me a letter that was addressed to me and as I opened it and read the first paragraph, I first noticed the $5 amount in the letter and as I checked inside the enveloped, "wala" I saw a $5 bill. I was happy of course because this is free money. Well it’s not really free because they had me do something and that is to answer some of their survey questionnaires that they sent me a couple of months ago. They were the one who sent me the rare $2 dollar bill anyways. This is not the first time I received cash in the mail, I think this is my fifth times. The biggest amount I received was almost $40 for doing a TV show survey for the entire week. Cool huh?

Reality check

My husband and I would often talk about us getting old and we sometimes make jokes about it. I would say something like if I get old and ill I don’t want to be sent to a homecare facilitie or something like that because I’ll be lonelier. He teasingly told me that if the place is similar to the Assisted living austin then there is nothing to worry about because I will be taken good care of. He and the children will be at peace because I’m in good hands. Yeah right! I was like, well, if that’s the case then I will do it the same thing for you. We just laughed. But in reality, I get scared. Anyhow, as much as we want to stay with our children as we get older, we just can’t because they will have their own family to take care of. My husband and I will have to move-in to a community that will assist us in our daily activities.

Her baby shower party

We have a friend in our congregation that is expecting their second child. She’s having a girl and she recently had her baby shower party. I didn’t make it because I had appointment at the time but I gave her some baby stuff the following day. I wish I know her soon-to-be baby’s name that way I can order a baby bibs online that has her baby’s name on it (just like in the photo). I’m sure she would love it. Aside from the baby stuff I bought for her baby, I also gave her some of the thermal blankets that were given to me by friend. They can surely use it to keep their baby nice and warm this winter. I believe her due date is this month; we can’t wait to see her newborn. Were so excited!

This place is one of the main tourist spot here in San Diego. We often go to this place just to walk and see all kinds of pirate ships, submarines (Maritime Museums) and cruise ships ducked and departing. There are plenty of tourists who come by into this place every day. You see all kinds of people from every nation. There are numerous gift shops around the corner. You will also see the USS Midway Museum and the huge statue-couple as you go on walking to the Seaport Village. We went there the other day and we toured inside the Maritime Museum. It was my first time to actually see the submarine; its hallway is very tiny. All you can see inside are cables, monitoring system and torpedo tubes. It was very interesting.

2012 resolutions

I believe majority of the people’s resolution for this year is to lose weight. Well, I think it has always been ever since, but most of the people find it so hard to keep their promises and they’re prone to failure. Just like for instance in my case, every year I always say I will try to lose weight and specifically burn fat right on my belly, which is a constant battle. There are times where I am consistent with what I'm doing but other times I fail. However, I’m on special diet regimen right now and I admit I have hard time maintaining it regularly. I am hopeful that somehow I will see some positive results from this diet program. If I don’t shed any fats, there is no one to be blame but me.

I wish I don’t have any heels problem that way I can do a lot of walking on my treadmill. Just by wandering inside the house and doing my daily house chores triggers the pain. It hurts a lot. I could not imagine how painful this would be if I do some walking exercise. If only I have a stationary bicycle, I wouldn’t have to worry about my painful heels. Oh well, I just gotta do what I gotta do.

Auto insurance with good customer service

We just had our minivan fixed a few weeks ago after I had a minor fender bender in our garage and my husband isn't happy with the work because they replaced the right side headlamp but not the left side and the left side is all foggy and faded and it's hard to see at night time. My husband called his insurance company twice and they said someone would be returning his call to resolve the matter but no one ever returned his call so he's decided to obtain some new auto insurance quotes from other companies because he's not satisfied with the customer service he's getting from his current policy. I don't blame him one bit. He gives his hard earned money to his insurance company and they are supposed to treat the customer with respect and satisfy his concerns but it's obvious they don't care if he's not happy.

We own a 2007 toyota sienna mini van so we have to have mini van insurance because these types of vehicles have more blind spots and present a larger risk to those people driving them as well as to pedestrians. Mini vans are larger therefore it takes a special skill to drive one. That's one of the things I learned very quickly when I learned to drive and obtained my drivers license. Because we financed our Toyota mini van through toyota, the cost of insurance for our van is higher. We need to have full coverage to protect our investment. My husband want's to find a insurance company that can satisfy our budget requirements but still give us good customer service.

Our SeaWorld annual pass is over

Sky Tower was becoming invisible because it was foggy!

Many people were visiting SeaWorld and taking advantage of their annual pass before it expires. We went Thursday and there were a lot of people, parking lot was full and we hardly even find a spot. The entrances were expanded to accommodate all the people trying to get in. Unfortunately, the weather that day didn’t cooperate with us, which gave us the reason to go home early. We were only able to watched two shows (Pets Rule & One Ocean), rode one ride and pretty much left the park earlier than normal. The Sky Tower was closed and as well as the Sky Ride because of the dense fog. Good bye SeaWorld, until we met again next year. We will definitely renew our passes because my children love this place. This Park had become our 1st destination when it comes to recreational activities, amusements and family bonding.

I never really cared much about having Cable Television at home but when my sister wouldn’t stop talking about those Housewife shows I decided it was time to spring for satellite since it was a better deal and I got even more channels. Anyway, I’ve become obsessed with them all which is good since I feel like all BRAVO does all day is rerun old episodes! I work from home so I’ve actually been getting less work done than ever but those Housewives of New Jersey are just fascinating – I can’t pull myself away when they’re on there giving each other attitude! It’s also fun because my sister watches out in Oregon and we chat about the episodes afterwards which is a good way for us to keep in touch more often than we were before. I never watched much TV before now but I have to be honest and say that I totally understand what all the fuss is about when it comes to reality Tv. It’s totally addictive, at least for me!

A couple took advantage of the all inclusive vacation caribbean to spend some quality time with each other. This couple is popular in the Philippines for they are few of the top celebrities over there. I don’t understand why some couple doesn’t want to reveal their true status whether they’re committed to each other/dating or they’re just hanging out like friends do. But I think it’s very obvious that there is something deep between them because why would they go travel alone, and some would say that they were seen together most of the time? Well, it’s none of my business anyway. It’s their life and they are entitled to do whatever they want. If that what makes them happy, so be it. People, including media should be happy for them instead of intriguing them with all kinds of publicity. Well, all I can say is have fun guys and I’m sure they’ll have a blast at their Caribbean tour. Good luck!

Sendong killed many lives

Devastating news from Cagayan de Oro, flash flood struck the city and there were major casualties and damages caused by the said storm. It was heartbreaking to see many children died from flood. Rushing currents hit the city late at night and helpless people drowned and some were swept away by the current. I can’t help myself but cry while watching on the TFC TV patrol news. Accordingly, the last flash flood the city had was 10 years ago (correct me if I’m wrong) and it was devastating for many who have never seen that kind of flood. Houses were washed away and many people are homeless. My sincere prayer goes out to those victim and families who are going through some tough times right now. I actually have some online pals whose families were affected by the flood and I am trying to reach out in my own little way. I told her/them that I will be donating a little amount of money and I know it’ll be of big help already. I feel sad for everyone in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City. As of the moment the total cadavers reported were 436 and counting… there were also countless of missing individuals too. We all have to PRAY for them.

Natural disaster strikes unexpectedly

When Mother Nature strike’s the earth no one can get away with it. Natural calamities can sometimes be merciless. I’m sure many of us have heard about the news in the Philippines about the flash floods where thousands of cadavers were found and thousands of people lost their homes and families. They need our help in any way we can. I actually called my mom and asked her if she can set aside some used clothes for donations. Thousands of people need food, shelter and clothing and thankfully many people have golden heart who offered help to all the survivors.

Since majority of my families and relatives are nurse by profession, I would like to ask them if they can donate their used uniforms and give it to those people who need it as they go back to schools (medical or nursing) and work (medical related jobs). I am also thinking about getting some new uniforms at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/ as my donations to them. Little something will really make a huge difference into these survivors’ lives.

Now is the time of the year when people seem to be jollier and just enjoying their time more. Maybe because the year is about to end already and the holidays is certainly in the air. We don't celebrate but can definitely see the scene all over the place. There are lots of trade show exhibits at the malls right now. People are flocking to different booths. There are lots of featured displays like the latest gadgets, the newest in fashion, the nicest cars!

I must say the organizers are really doing a great job in putting together such nice events. The look itself, those table covers, velvet ropes, table top display, the furniture they use like those cozy directors chairs, cool podiums and platform are all very nice. I can see a lot of people, families or group of friends taking their pictures here and there. I guess everyone just want to enjoy and have a good time wandering around. Indeed we should end the year with positive vibes and look ahead with smiles.

Wet weather in San Diego

Today and tomorrow will be wet for us here in San Diego. I’m glad that we already have our van back before this wet weather arrived. I could not imagine myself and the kids walking home soaked and wet from rain. I had to take my husband to work and pick him up at night so I can take the vehicle with me. The photo above was taken earlier today, I was inside our van. I took it while my daughter and I were waiting for my son to get out of school. It was raining cats and dogs and the sky look so weird. It was like half dark and grayish cloud, half blue skies.

A Filipina I met in the bus

I took the bus going to my favorite store the other day because our vehicle was still in the auto body shop at the time. While in the bus I met an old Filipina lady, she asked me if I’m a Filipina and I said yes. She then asked me if I want to work in a nursing home, she said that her daughter is looking for a substitute. Accordingly, I will work 3 times a week and I will be taking care of an old man. I thought it was cool. I gave her my phone number and until now I’m waiting for her phone call. I was a little apprehensive about her offer but nothing I lose if I try. I was already looking for scrubs at Marcus nursing scrubs just in case I get the job I already have uniforms ready in my closet.

SnowWorld at SeaWorld

Early snow adventure for us in San Diego. This is man made snow and everyone is enjoying it. Children get to experience sledding without having to go up in the mountain for snow adventure. Many people are actually going to SeaWorld this month because of the fantastic SnowWorld. Our SeaWorld fun card is expiring soon and we want to make sure that we go there a few times before it will expire. We will renew it next year and we will probably get the 2 year contract because it’s a lot cheaper than the 1 year fun card. We’ll see!

Was it accident or negligent?

I am so fortunate that I didn’t have any problems delivering my newborn children vaginally. I’ve heard some terrible news about parents who lost their new born children in death and they believed it was caused by the Doctor’s negligent act behavior. Two families sought justice for their loved ones and sued the person responsible for the victim’s death. A husband was grieving from the death of his newborn baby and later his wife inside the delivery room. Parents sued the Doctor after delivering a lifeless newborn child. They shared their stories on the local TV news about the incident and I will not go into further detail because I cringe every time I think about their story. Thus, according to the Physician they didn’t do anything wrong. I bet, if those Physicians don’t have any malpractice insurance, they will not get protection from any lawsuits thrown at them.

My husband signed up at one of those famous online video rental companies that lets you watch or rent movies and got a free 30 day trial to watch as many movies as he wanted to. He was telling me the other day he wanted to watch an old western movie because it stars a famous actor in it but he said they don't have that movie so he told me he would talk to a guy at work that sells movies. We took a half day at chuck-e-cheeses the other day. Seeing our children happy is very satisfying for us. It was a cold day and taking then into an indoor recreational place was perfect. They never had any dull moments inside; they were actually all over the place. My husband had to chase our son and I chase our daughter. We were all having fun and we didn’t realize the time went by so quickly. We have to take them there again whenever they behave. Going to that place was actually a prize. My son is doing pretty well in school and achieved something that made us proud, so, he deserves it.

Whenever I get the time to watch TV, I do make sure to watch relevant shows such as History, Discovery, Food and including the How it’s Made TV show. The last episode I’ve seen from the How It’s Made show was about industrial parts. They were showing how they make the tools from gathering the materials, creating it, tube bending and smoothing, to product labeling. It was really interesting because it gave me an idea of how these bended tubes and pipes that we have in our home was properly made. Verbal abused caused his addiction

Last night while waiting for my husband to come home from work, I watched the “Intervention” show. I have to admit that every time I watched this show, I always cry. Last night, they were talking about this man from San Francisco and his name is Luke. Luke didn’t know that he’ll be facing with the intervention team; he thought that the show is for drug abuse documentary purposes only. His parents divorce when he just an infant and he grew up his mom and a stepfather. At first they were happy but they went through some trials in life that causes his stepfather to gradually break his sobriety from alcoholism. That’s when Luke’s drug abuse problem occurs.

He said that his stepfather would blame him for everything and he didn’t appreciate it. He started using drugs and abusing from it. Years later, his stepfather became sober again and said sorry to Luke, but it was too late. His parents attempted to send him into a heroin detox rehabilitation center, but to no avail. He refused to do so. This time, with the help of the intervention group, he was given a second chance to seek a route to redemption. Fortunately, he accepted the help and he was sent into a rehabilitation center. Accordingly, he is now sober since April 2011, and they showed his recent photo, he gained weight and looks a lot better now.

This is one of the reasons why I want to fly home right now. I really miss my parents cooking. My relatives had visitors came over from the province and my family hosted a dinner meal a few weeks ago, and these were the foods they prepared for their visitor. They shared this photo on my Facebook and I envied because I want them to cook this for me so bad, but they can’t because they’re thousands of miles away from me. Seafood’s are my favorites and I can eat them everyday. That’s the comfort food I grew up with; I won’t trade these kinds of meals to any of the American foods, for sure.

A huge help

I used to work as a secretary at one of the internet provider companies in my hometown. The main branch was located in Manila and my boss would always visit the main branch for some seminars and stuff like that. My job description was liquidating our products and replenishing our finances and data recordings. It was fun because I learned a lot of things when it comes to the computer and with the help of our Maintenance Software, it was easier for me to give and send reports and updates to the main office in Manila.

I can’t imagine how the job would be like without the maintenance software. Filing all the records in the computer was very convenient compared to manual reports. Well, I am so meticulous when it comes to filing records, so, I make sure that I have paper copies as well as hard drive reports. That’s one of the good things about technology, it helps us to get our job done in no time and it does a lot of work on our behalf. We just have to input the information and the software will take care of the rest. I missed my job and it’s been over 6 years now that I haven’t got any regular job. I want to work soon!

Even though I don’t put Make Up on my face, I do love seeing ladies with their simple but elegant neutral color makeup. Earlier, I was watched the Make Up Tutorials for the bridal natural makeup and I love it. If were to put some makeup, I would choose the neutral color that I can use for my everyday look. I need to read some Cosmetics Tips that way I will learn how to properly apply some makeup and of course learn about the makeup colors that will match my skin tone. You should watch the video above because I’m sure you will like it too. It seems like every makeup brushes has its function, very interesting.

I know a couple who owns a home cleaning company similar to the durham cleaning services. They said that they’ve been in this business for years now and they’ve helped many friends to get employment. Occupied doing our thing

Tonight is just another typical night for me and my kids; we find our individual spot and get occupied over something after we had our dinner. I’m on my computer right now doing my thing while my children are doing theirs too. My son is sitting on his chair drawing and my daughter is playing with the remote control. I can hear her turning our TV on and off and changing the channels. It’s annoying so I had to interrupt to stop her from turning the TV on and off. She’s watching Las Vegas golf club tournament and for some reason she’s enjoying it because she stopped changing the channel and she’s just sitting on the couch pretending like she understands the sport she’s watching.

Oh! Speaking of Las Vegas golf club, I had been asking my friends who often visit Las Vegas about the travel time from San Diego to Las Vegas, because my husband and I had been planning to go over there for a short vacation. If we make this plan happen next year, we will probably stay in a nice hotel that offers golfing service. My husband and son would surely love to spend time with each other playing golf. One time he told me that he wants to take his son golfing one day, going to Las Vegas might be a great time to do that. My husband loves to play golf and he always introduces our son to his favorite sports, it’ll be exciting. I would love for my boys to have a precious moments together.

Princess Belle - Beauty & the Beast

Here’s my MYM entry for this week, two of the most popular and gorgeous Disney princesses in yellow. This was taken at the Disneyland a couple of months ago. It was nice to see these Disney characters in person. My children had so much fun including us their parents. It brought back our childhood memories. I used to watch Disney movies when I was little and I grew up thinking it’ll be nice to see them until I make it happen. How cool! Dreams came true indeed. Hopefully we can go back there soon; kids would love to take the rides they rode during our Disneyland adventure and so are we. LOL! It felt like I was a kid again when I was there :D

I am a coffee person. My day wouldn’t be complete without my coffee and I get grouchy when I can’t have a sip. We recently replaced our coffee maker and we bought the inexpensive black coffee machine so it’ll match our other kitchen electronics. One day, my husband was cleaning all our dishes including the glass carafe that holds the brewed coffee and placed it inside the dishwasher for dry. The next day, I was about to brew some fresh coffee when I noticed a big crack on the bottom of glass carafe. I asked my husband if he knew about it, unfortunately, he had no idea how it got cracked.

We had to use a plastic container to catched the brewed coffee at the time. My husband thought of getting another set of coffee maker, but I told him it wasn’t that long when we bought our coffee maker. So, we went to the local department store to get a carafe for replacement. I told my husband, I want to get the stainless steel thermal carafe like the ones I’ve seen from the krups coffee maker parts because it’s durable and can keep hot and fresh coffee much longer compare to the glass ones. Unfortunately, the stainless steel carafe that I like won't fit in our coffee maker. Well, I guess I'll just have to wait 'til our coffee maker breaks again for I will surely purchase the krups coffee maker for a change.

I have to admit that I have been shopping for clothes almost every other day for the last few weeks. I’m shopping for our winter clothes and they’re all in clearance sale. I bought sweaters, winter jackets and some other stuff for our household. I also surprised my husband with something. I noticed that his wallet is getting worn-out and I felt bad. I went to the mall to look for a nice wallet that he’ll love. I found one and I hand it to him, he was smiling and thanked for my sweet gesture. Anyway, we will be having our special assembly in a few weeks and I know he’s been complaining about his long-sleeves dress shirts and dress pants were getting a little tighter on him. So, I thought of getting some new long-sleeves dress shirts and some dress pants for him.

I have to get it at mens big and tall clothing’s store whenever I get the chance this week. I want to get the plain orange long-sleeves dress shirt because he doesn’t have this color in his closet yet. Well, he does in a way, but it’s in a short-sleeves type, so, I must get him in a long-sleeves type too. I’m sure he will appreciate it a lot. I have to ask his size again that way I don’t have to return it or whatsoever.

I’m not an extreme couponer but I love coupons especially when I get big savings from a specific item I would like to purchase using the coupon. Right now, I am looking at the daily deals from the dropdowndeals.com and I am slobbering at the tasty extreme pizza which cost $20 but after the coupons it’ll be down to $8. Great savings indeed, unfortunately we don’t have the store nearby so I can’t get it. I want to get paper supplies like self-stick note for my work and I’m looking at the shoplet coupons to see what they can offer me. They actually have some clearance sales and free shipping for some items. I think I found what I’m looking for, great! Thanks to shoplet coupons.

Horseback riding is one of my dreams and I think I will fulfill it one of these days. I was watching on the local TV shows one day and they were talking about the historical places in San Diego. I found out that there’s a horse trail where people can ride on the horses back and they’ll take us to some historical areas during the ride. I inquired the place the other day and asked for some specific information. I found out that there’s an entrance fee, which is $35 per adult and children under 5 are free. Kids can ride on the pony's back for $5, while adults can ride on the horses for $40 per person. We have to make a reservation ahead of time and by the way, the $40 will take about an hour ride, which I think it's worth the money. So, my husband and I are planning to go there one of these days if the weather permits. I’m excited, I really want to experience riding on a horse’s back.

I drop my son off to school this morning and while waiting for my son’s teacher to open the door I was able to talk to one of the mom’s. She was asking me about the Halloween, she wanted to know if we did the trick or treat thing and she wants to know what we are going to do this up coming thanksgiving party. I honestly told her that we don’t practice such celebration. I told her that we can always have our get-together party whenever we want to it doesn’t have to be occasionally. She totally understands me and my practices because according to her, she has relatives who share the same faith as I do.

Then we talked about food and savings. I don’t know how we got into that topic but it was cool because that’s how I was able to share to her about the savings I get whenever I go food shopping. I told her to search for www.savings.com online and check for some coupons that she might be able to use for her next grocery shopping. She thanked me for the great information. She said that she’s been looking for ways to save money especially now that thanksgiving is just around the corner and not to mention the Christmas holidays too.

I used to plan my wedding by looking at magazines and online and I’ve gotten to where what I like to do most is watch on direct TV. It’s so much easier to find inspiration from one of the fifty bajillion wedding shows that are on TV and I think David Tutera is my favorite. He’s so over the top and he’s got this one show where he comes in and totally makes over someone’s wedding. That’s all well and good but they don’t really talk about how much it costs once he does it the way he wants which is what sets it apart – of course their wedding wasn’t going to look that good, they didn’t have 75k to blow on it, David! Anyway, Bridezillas is good and I loved that old show Whose Wedding is it Anyway. That was one about planners and their brides and I could totally relate to how crazy some of those women were, unfortunately. I think everyone’s waiting for me to be done with planning!

In shopping mode

Well, well, well…. My husband gave me $$$ for my shopping spree and I was excited. After I drop off my son to school this morning, I drove straight to my favorite stores. By the way, I only have a few favorite stores and that’s where I normally go whenever I need to go shopping for clothes and footwear. Of course I bought some goodies for my children and for my husband too, I’m not greedy kind of person you know. LOL! I love shopping for my family. Well, the first clothes that I always shopped for are for my children, then for us (husband and me). I was exhausted at the end of the day because it took me a few hours to find the clothes I want to purchase and that’s only for one store. I went to 3 different stores by the way. When my heels starts to feel awful then I said “shopping is done for now”. It was fun though because I went shopping by myself, I didn’t have to worry about anybody waiting for me outside or my kids are crying because they’re bored waiting for me, or something like that because I had my husband stayed at home to keep an eye of my daughter while I’m gone.

That is my recent photo. Actually, this was taken today at the beauty salon. I just had my haircut and I took a picture of myself. I think I look great in this picture. The lines on my forehead aren’t that visible. LOL! I can tell that I look so happy in this picture even though I shy away my smile, well, there’s a reason for that and I don’t want to give the detail because I want to keep it private. Anyway, I may not look like I need an anti-aging treatment in this photo, but believe me I really do. I’m only in my 30’s but sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, I look like I'm getting old because of the few visible wrinkles on my forehead.

Time is getting tough these days and wrinkles may cause from many life issues. In other words STRESS. Having 2 demanding children and being a full-time mom and wife 24/7 can be difficult. Sometimes, I would have to ask my husband to give me half-a-day off from every thing, so I can enjoy my ME time. I go shopping and wander around the shopping mall or I go out to the ministry because It’s like a stress relief for me. I need something like that once in awhile.

Before we have our washer and dryer, we used to go to the self-service laundry mat facility to do our laundry. It was hard and it usually takes too much of our time whenever we wash our clothes. It was like a-day-out doing our laundry. Since we only wash our clothes a few times a month, we always have tons of loads to wash and it gets tiring at times. But nothing we can do because we have to have clean clothes to wear. Good thing we only have a child at that time and I think my son was just a year old yet at that time. While we’re waiting for our laundry to get washed and dried, we played games from the pacman arcade machine just to kill the time.

After we received our stimulus money from the previous administration, we thought, we need to get a washer and dryer so we won’t have problem doing our laundry and it’ll be easier for us to get our laundry done whenever we want to. It was worth buying the laundry machines because we saved a lot of money and not only that, I can put the loads anytime I want to. Our laundry machines are perfectly working still and so far we don’t have any problems with it. We have this for 4 years now and it’s still working fine.

We went out in service this morning and the first house I knocked onto was a Filipina. I think she’s in her 60’s, she was so nice. We were about to leave when she called me back and said “I want to give you a souvenir”, she handed me a handcrafted kitchen towel. Her gesture was one of a kind. Imagine it was our first time to meet with each other and spoke with each other but the trust that she gave us was very kind. We left the house with a sweet smile on our face. We moved on and continued to the next houses and I guess she was still looking for us because as soon as she saw us, she waved and stopped us. She was holding this colorful stuff toys and I couldn’t figure what it was. She then said I want to give this to your daughter. A cute little bee, my daughter was so happy and we thanked her again for being so nice to us. She said that she made it, and that’s what she does during her spare time. That’s what keep her busy for sure. She's not selling them, she just want to give it to her friends and family. She has grandchildren, so i'm sure she make it for them.

Traveling to Chicago is not really at the top of my lists. But if given the chance, I will definitely visit my favorite celebrity, the popular and the queen of talk show and that’s none other than Ms. Oprah Winfrey. As far as I know she works at the Harpo Studios in Chicago and I want to see her personally. I am a subscriber of her website and I always receive some promotions and invitations to come to one of her shows and be a studio audience. I don’t think she’ll pay for my accommodation, unless I’m one of her guest or whatsoever but I’m not. So, if in case I will fly to Chicago to see her along with the rest of the invitees (meet up at the airport), we will have to hire a Chicago Airport Shuttle Service to take us to our destination or at the terminal transfer station.

It’ll be exciting to see the queen of talk shows in the United States. She’s popular worldwide; I don’t think anybody in this world will not know Ms. Oprah except the younger ones. With her strong personality, many people around the world would want to see her in person so bad. I know a lot of prominent people in the Philippines yearn and desperate to make friends with her. She’s cool!

Whatever knowledge I may have from Microsoft Office program right now, I will credit it to my first job. I worked as a Data Encoder before and that’s how I learned how to use the Microsoft Word including the Microsoft Excel. I love these two programs because I can pretty much do a lot of things from it. I know a lot of the menu buttons and its function. As a matter of fact, without the Microsoft Office program installed in my computer I feel incomplete. I do my work on the MS-Word a lot and whenever I do inventories and reports of my earnings; I do it on my MS-Excel. What I love about the Microsoft Excel is the AutoSum, Charts Wizzard, Format - Rows and Columns. MS-Excel is very good for numbers and charts.

I know for sure that there are things that I still have to learn about MS-Excel and if there’s a Microsoft Excel Training available for free, I will no doubt take advantage of learning more from it because MS-Excel is really an interesting program. I think if I didn’t get the Data Encoding Job then I don’t think I will know how to use the MS Office program period. I know I have some friends who still don’t know how to use these programs even though they’ve been using the computer for years. I am just so thankful that I was able to learn from it because I am and will be benefiting from it for as long as I’m alive.

Driving through thick fog

I drove the van yesterday to go shopping which means I had to pick up my husband from work late at night. I got used to it though BUT last night was a different story. I got out of our apartment and it saw so foggy outside. I was scared because I’ve never driven at night with thick fog and with my children at the backseat made me really scared. I drove slower than normal which I’m sure people would understand it because of the visibility problem. I was even more scared as I go through the bridge, I barely see anything. I’m glad I survived and pass the thick fog ordeal. I’m so thankful and believe me I said prayers every curves and stop light I’ve gone by. Coming back home was I think a little better because I didn’t have to worry about driving, I had my husband drive us home.

My cousin was drawn into RED these past few years. She collected all kinds of red stuff. Her couch is red, lampshades and I bed she has a lot of red kitchenware’s too. Believe me, she merchandise apparels and footwear and as far as I know she has a lot of red shoes from flats to high heels. I just thought, if she sees these gorgeous and fancy red rugs she might love it and probably purchase it for her living room. I really love the pattern; floral is so girly and attractive. This will surely beautify her home even more. The fact that her floors are wood, this would be perfect. This will be a nice addition to her red collection.

I love red too. They look lively and I think it brings strong and positive energy to the surroundings. You can actually find these fancy red rugs at therugswarehouse.co.uk and I got the photo from the website too. I can’t help but show it to my lovely visitors. It’s like, words can’t explain how beautiful these carpets or rugs are to me. I’m sure you will agree with me. They actually have a variety of red rugs but these were at the top of my lists.

My husband loves electronics. Every time there are newest gadgets he’d long to have one too. I don’t blame him. He used to buy electronics before we met but now that he’s a family man and he has more priorities than electronics, he tries to put his “wants” aside to provide for his family first. When it comes to technology or gadgets I let my husband takes care of it because it’s just too confusing for me to even deal with it. However, I do love electronics don’t get me wrong. I just can’t handle with the connecting, fixing and installing that kind of stuff. Anyway, he came home from work one time asking me to do a little research about the prototype PCB board. I have no idea what that was and what it was for but I went ahead and searched it anyway. He’s the boss, you know?

I found out that it’s kind of like a sample, original design or model for PCB board. I guess his co-worker had him get a quote for it or something like that. After I found the website I had him sat on the my compter to let him do the rest of the research because he knows better than I do. My husband is not really a technology or electronic savvy, he just knows a lot of things about it.

I bet you can’t tell that these eyeglasses were cheap eyeglasses. Can you? Well, one of these eyeglasses will be mine pretty soon. For the last 2 weeks, my husband worked overtime and he had little time for us. It’s good that we will have good paycheck to come but we want some quality time with him. He promised to take us somewhere next week and I can’t wait. He said that he’ll give me money for my shopping spree and for my children’s toys too. I already bought something for my children but he said he’ll get them something anyway. Mind you, he’ll get electronics for himself too. What really made me look forward too is going into a place somewhere afar. I can’t wait to do it because it’s one of my lists of things to achieve and it’ll be fun for sure. I had to change my home phone number twice because there were too many telemarketers and collection agencies looking for somebody that we don’t know. I hated it because I get phone calls in the morning as well as late at night and they’re looking for Corazon. I’m not Corazon neither do I know who that person was. I told the callers, we just got this new phone numbers and we’ve already gotten too many phone calls. I even asked them to remove my phone number in their lists because it doesn’t make any sense. They apologize for the inconvenience that they’ve caused on me. I told them; maybe Corazon previously owned this number before it was given to us. Maybe that person is hiding from her collectors and thought changing her phone number is the only way to get rid of the collectors. Well, she’s wrong because the collectors will hunt her forever.

Sturdy furniture

Typical average home owners back in my hometown Philippines have log furniture. My father is a mechanic and handyman by profession; he built our house and some of the log furniture that we have. We have log stools and log beds. As far as I am concerned, log furniture is way better than steel furniture. They’re unique and sturdy. Besides, whenever it’s built by father I consider it the best and so special. We also have a 3 feet high log cutting board back home in the Philippines that my father had made. They used it a lot. My parents have a family business and that is slaughtering the pigs (buy and sell), they used that cutting board to chop off the meat into pieces.

It’s only October but some parts of the United States of America are already experiencing the so called winter wonderland. Colorado is the first state I heard having 10 inches snow and now in New York as well. Everybody was shocked of course because they never expect winter before Halloween. Many people were actually disappointed because they can’t wander around their neighborhood for trick or treating without unwrap themselves with warm clothes. I’m sure most of the ladies out there bought sexy outfit for their supposedly outdoor Halloween party but because it’s snowing their plans were messed up. They can still do indoor party though. The photo above was taken today by my friend from New Jersey.

Fortunately, for us here in San Diego, we are having great time with our weather. Nobody can spoil people’s plan for Halloween because they can wear any outfit they may want. Gladly, we don’t practice any of these things, so, we don’t have to worry regardless of the weather.

In our household, we rarely host parties because we don’t practice a lot of holidays including birthdays for religious reasons. We do celebrate weddings, anniversaries and graduations things like that. However we do have gatherings and get-together party even without any occasion just for fun. The first party that we hosted was this year and it was for the graduation party for our eldest child. He graduated from pre-school and we were excited to throw a party for him. My husband and I prepared the needed things for his party. We went to the local party supply store to purchase some balloons and etc…

The store that we went to has all kinds of kids birthday party supplies and it varies by themes and gender. We got all we needed for our son’s graduation party. I set every thing up and when he came home from his graduation ceremony he was surprised. I actually baked cake for him and decorated it. The theme for his party is Thomas and Friends. I placed motorized train on top of the cake and assembled tracks around the cake, and then I put another motorized train that goes on the tracks. We pulled it out really nice. We’re looking forward to host another party soon.

I always tell my husband about what really frightens me a lot when my children starts going to school and that’s none other than bullying. I have two children with two different characters, one is mellow and one is mischievous. I fear for them getting bullied at school or the other way around. I’ve heard on the news about children who were being bullied for years and they couldn’t take it anymore so took their own lives by committing suicide. It’s very sad and I am really hoping that none of this stuff happens to my children. I’ll be devastated.

I have to educate myself as well as my children about the awareness on how to STOP bullying at school to help us learn on how to deal with the situation in case someone at school is giving my children a hard time. I read some publications like bullying prevention articles to be able to learn about the student’s rights and what legal actions that we have to take in case we’ve encountered such problems. I always tell my children and I will never stop telling them to be nice to everyone, or if somebody bullies them, they have to bring it up to their teacher’s attention if not to us, so the teacher can handle the situation. Let’s all say “NO to BULLIES”!

Philly’s cheese steak @ subway

We went out for service this morning and worked an hour. It was already almost lunch time and we were starving because we didn’t really had breakfast. I was driving and my husband thought of having some roll tacos, I told him we have to get it somewhere because the Mexican restaurant that we go to doesn’t prepare the roll tacos like it used to anymore. He then changed his mind and thought of something else. He said he feels like having cheese steak and I thought we have to get it at subway because it’s closer and I don’t think we have Quiznos restaurant nearby. I drove to the subway restaurant and that’s where we had our lunch. It was yummy, fills our empty stomach for sure.

During our travel to San Francisco

We traveled to San Francisco sometime in March of 2011 and it was our first time traveling as a family of four. We had fun; we visited many wonderful places, ate delectable foods and went shopping spree. We went to the heart of San Francisco; they call it Union Square where tall buildings are located. We went shopping for jewelries at one of the nicest malls over there. Whenever I go shopping, the first places I go to are the jewelry shops. I love jewelries. I'm sure many will agree with me that jewelries/diamonds are women’s best friend. My husband bought me a pair of earrings; however, there were other jewelries that caught my attention and these were elegant vintage engagement rings as well as wedding rings. I was like "I want you so bad". LOL!

I don’t wear my engagement ring anymore because I lost the diamond. I feel bad that I don’t have my engagement ring on my finger anymore. Hopefully, my husband will have it fix soon if not in the near future or he could just get me a replacement of it. But anyway, it will all depend on our budget of course. I am taking care of our finances and budgeting, so, I should know better when we can afford to have it fix. I love surprises though, sometimes regardless of our budget my husband loves to surprise me, he is so generous and kind that he buys me anything without my knowledge. He definitely knows how to make me happy.

Hubby drinks alcohol occasionally

Whenever my husband gets his days off, he would always go to the discount liquor store around the corner to get some beer or wine. Sometimes he’ll ask me if I don’t mind him drinking some beer, which I don’t really mind but I always remind him to make sure that he’ll drink it before bedtime or don’t drink and drive. There are times that I think my husband would want to drink a glass of alcohol with me but unfortunately I never really drink alcohol. I never tried drinking beer because I don’t like the taste of it. I don’t drink wine either.

It’s funny because whenever my husband drinks a glass of beer or wine and I dare tasting it I get hot flashes afterwards. I think it has something to do with psychological reaction, I thought even just a little taste of it makes me intoxicated already. Well, they said if you’re really not used to drinking alcohol and you drink it even just a little, the side effect would be the same as of those people who drank more than 2 glasses of alcohol. I want to drink wine occasionally but I have to get used to drinking alcohol first before I even go there.

Here’s my Ruby Tuesday meme entry for this week, at the bus stop waiting for the bus obviously. After I picked up my son from school, we went to the department store to get some stuff. I knew I am going to complain afterwards because I will be walking a lot. I have heels problem and the more I walk the more it’ll get sore. But because I wanted to go to the store and I need to get something I had no choice BUT to walk. I didn’t take the van because my husband drove it for work and he’ll be staying for overtime tonight that’s why I decided to just commute with my kids. We really need another car. Anyways, we took the bus 934 that goes around the beach to the department store and to the trolley station. My children thought we were going to the beach but I told them it’s not the best time to go to the beach because it’s getting cold and I don’t want to go alone anyways. Maybe next time.

My big day presentation

The first time I was able to use the LCD projector was when we had our class presentation during my college days at the auditorium. It was a big hall and there weren't a lot of people in the audience so it wasn't frightening I thought at that time. The only people who were there were my professor and classmates. I can’t remember what exactly our presentation was about but I can remember we had a technical problem at that time. The lcd projector bulbs weren't working well and we had to stop our discussion several times just to fix it. Despite the technicality we were able to manage our presentation without having to worry about exceeding our timetable. Gladly, I passed the subject and that's all I care.

Boxes are ready

I always say I can’t wait to send the boxes to my family in the Philippines, who doesnt anyways? I’m sure they’re also looking forward to receive it and see what goodies I have for them. I will be sending these boxes (jumbo and regular) next month which is November and hopefully they’ll receive it late January of 2012. So far I’ve loaded their requests in box and hopefully it’ll fit them. I still have to get some stuff, sweets in particular. I’ll wait after the Halloween is over because that’s when candies and chocolates will be put on clearance sale.

We had hurricane this year that struck the Atlantic Ocean and they called it hurricane Irene. Many people thought it was going to be a huge hurricane that will cause many damages to many states just like what had happened to the hurricane Katrina. As far as I know these workers don’t take advantage of their customers, they don’t make business for the sake of money but emotion is also involved. They treated their customers as their own family and I’ve read an article about Houston’s water damage service and majority of their customers were satisfied and they even thank the workers because they were so kind and efficient with their job. The last time we went to the beach we saw several tractors and trucks digging on the ground. There was actually piled dirt and sand everywhere. I believe they were building an apartment by the beach. They also sounded like they were pumping some water underneath the ground. My husband said that they had to do that so that there won’t be any salt water where the foundations will be built. They also have industrial hygiene information outside the area. I’ve seen the digital photo of their project and I thought this apartment will be a great source of business for the community.

I don’t know when they’ll finish the actually project but I’m excited to see it. It looks pretty nice in the photo, I’m pretty sure it’ll be more attractive when everything is done including the landscape. Before the torn the building down to build a new apartments, it was actually a hotel but it looks pretty old. I’m not quite sure whether the owner is the same though. It’ll be interesting to witness the opening for these apartments. As far as I know, the building is right in front of the beach and I know there will be many people would want to rent one of the apartments.

We’ve been to SeaWorld several times already but I haven’t noticed this picture puzzle billboard until I got closer to it. I thought it was just an ordinary picture but then when I got closer I realize that there are hundreds of pictures in it. I posted recent status in my Facebook wall saying “I am listening to the FM radio station livestream from my hometown”, when my former high school friend buzzed and informed me about the RMN radio livestream as well. She said that I have to listen to this station because it’s very entertaining. She particularly told me to listen at a certain time for a certain reason and I am so looking forward to listen to it soon. For now, I am listening to the “Straight to the Point” where they discuss about politics and economic current events. They also redirect listeners to their current employments and services. Court Reporting Services was also mentioned and etc.

Listening to this radio station made me feel even closer to my hometown. I am well updated with the local and national headlines on my hometown. Even though I am thousands of miles away from Philippines but through this media I feel at home. In an hour the entertainment portion that my friend mentioned me will be on and I can’t wait to listen to it. I even told my friend, it’ll be nice if she send some greetings for me through the radio station. I would love to hear my name said thru the radio.

I don’t even wear them

I have a couple of cute Intimate Apparel that my husband gave me a long time ago but I haven’t worn them at all. I feel so uncomfortable and uneasy putting it on. I guess I’m just not used to wearing sexy apparels at night. I just let it sit inside my cabinet. I think I have to save it and give it to someone who will get married or I can save it for my daughter. My daughter can definitely have it if it’s still intact and if it fits her already. Actually, my children messed with it when they get a hold of my cabinet. For some reasons my daughter plays pretend with it, she’ll put it on and says she’s a princess.

I don’t mind them playing with it for as long as they don’t drag it on the carpet and leave it anywhere. When my husband bought it for me, I was still size 4 at that time and I’m one hundred percent sure that if I will forcedly wear it, it’ll tear apart. I gained so much weight after I have given birth twice and I have hard time losing my extra weight. I guess I will look like this forever because I don’t have consistency in any kind of exercise.

Ice cream truck

There are ice cream trucks that come by our street every single day and my children are aware of it. They know when the ice cream trucks are coming because they can hear the music from it. Believe it or not they can identify the songs if it’s from the ice cream truck or not. Whatever their doing they’ll stop it as soon as they hear the truck is coming. We normally just let the truck go by but yesterday my children were downstairs grilling with their daddy. When the truck came by they asked me if for coins and I gave in. Even though I know that we have some ice cream in our refrigerator I just let them buy from the ice cream truck because they look so excited. I just want them to experience how it's like to buy from the ice cream truck and had them pick which ice cream they want.

If only we have all kinds of money to spend a nice summer vacation together with my family, I will more likely do it often times and book for Cape Cod vacation rental just to spend quality time with my family and besides I heard a lot of good things in Cape Cod. It’s actually located at the easternmost part of Massachusetts and for your information, my husband grew up in Massachusetts, this would probably a perfect vacation for him because it’s been awhile since he last seen his hometown. He’s curious about the people he left behind if they’re still alive or not. He doesn’t have any contact with his adoptive parents and adoptive siblings for a very long time now.

Sometimes when he’s in his quiet mode, he’ll mention that he misses his family back home. Even though they weren’t his biological family but the fact that he grew up with them, he hopes to see them one day. I don’t know when will that happen but I’m hoping he will somehow see them alive in the future. One thing that my husband said though that he will never miss is the weather. He said that it gets nasty over there when its winter and he don’t want to go back to the kind of living that he had because accordingly, it’s tough.

First time renter

My Filipino neighbors next door are first time apartment renter. They didn’t have any experience on how it’s like to rent and they don’t know a lot about tenant’s rights. They’re unaware of a lot of things and I believe it’s the landlord’s responsibility to explain things to them, but I guess they were taken advantage by the landlord. When they came to rent the apartment they didn’t have a lot of appliances like refrigerator. Gladly, the manager who used to rent the apartment they’re renting right now rented a refrigerator. They rented it from the Appliances for Rent Company here in our place and I guess the landlord told the tenant that they’re going to pull out the refrigerator without giving notice to the new tenants about some fees. So, the manager and the tenant had an argument because of miscommunication. I feel sorry for my new neighbor because they have bad experience in renting an apartment as first time renters. I told them that there are cheap whirlpool appliances downtown if they want to purchase appliances particularly the refrigerator. Our refrigerator, washer and dryer are manufactured by whirlpool Corporation and we got them affordably. Days later I was told that they were able to settle the problem and they get to keep the refrigerator.

My husband, daughter and I went to the Seafood city market (Filipino store) over at Chula Vista Orange Avenue this afternoon to get something to eat. We grabbed some food for lunch at the Jollibee and Chowking. I also bought some Ingredients for my cooking. When we got inside the store the first thing I noticed was the Lhullier store, it was the newest addition of Seafood City. It's for remittance purposes. While at the store, I bought some native foods and as well as baby banana. This kind of banana is what I'm used to eating back in the Philippines.

Challenging hobbies

My husband was telling me that before he met me he goes to the casino and often times he had seen people on the side of the roads holding their hand held garmin chirp for outdoors gps device and they were looking for something on the ground. He was curious about it and eventually he learned that it was a treasure hunting game. Accordingly, many people have serious challenging hobbies like treasure hunting game. They like to challenge of finding stuff with the help of the device and the right coordinates to locate the treasure. Hubby said that he was going to join this hobby club but after he got married and have family, he said that it’s not worth of his time anymore. I guess this kind of clubbing/hobbies takes too much of your time and for a person who has family with small children this won’t be a good hobby at all. I think this kind of hobby is more recommendable to those single and retired people.

I have a problem when it comes to installation. I just don’t like to read the manual because I think it’s more confusing to me to look at the book for the step-by-step instructions. My husband would reprimand if he heard me having trouble putting things together. For instance, gadgets, he bought me a nice DSLR but then he never saw me reading the books for its functions and he got tired of me asking him too many questions about my camera because he himself doesn’t know anything about the product. That is just one instances that shows I don’t appreciate reading manuals.

Well, I’m not proud of it, so, don’t be quick to judge me. Gladly I have a husband who is so patient when it comes to reading manuals. Anyhow, a friend of mine gave me her unused treadmill that doesn’t come with manuals. We don’t know how to use it, good thing my husband thought quickly that we can get manuals online. Great idea! Imagine we don’t even have to worry about getting manuals because we can always search for it online. Fund raising at the Imperial Beach

When I took my kids to the park last Saturday we stopped by at the beach before we headed home. I didn’t know that there was an even going on at the beach but I was curious to see what it was for I heard a loud music and it sounded like there was a band singing at the beach. I was right! There were lots of people hanging around with 4 kid’s party jumps and there was also an old cars show. Everything was free except for the food of course. My son had so much fun because he enjoyed a lot jumping inside those party jumps. They also had free balloons and face/body paintings. They played spinning game where they won pencil and ring. It was a fund day for us and definitely worth stopping by.

It’s almost the time of the year once again

Three more months we will be calling our tax preparer once again to make an appointment. Well, we wont be getting much refund this year for sure because my husband took a leave of absence at work for 4 long months and during those months we didn’t get any regular paychecks. That’s one of the reasons why I won’t be able to go back to the Philippines next year because I won’t have enough money for my vacation. Earlier of this 2011, my husband and I already agreed that I will take the kids in the Philippines next year. I was getting so excited and I’ve already told my family back home that I and my children will be spending our 18 days vacation in the Philippines in 2012.

I’m sure they’ve already told some of our relatives back home that we will be taking a short vacation over there. But things and my plans had changed after the unforeseen occurrence befell us. I have no choice but to cancel my international vacation plans. It hurts but nothing we can do. If only I have all kinds of money, I don’t have to worry about financial aspects for our vacation. We all know that vacation costs a lot of money, presents and spending needs budget. It can be headaches especially when people expect too much from us when we go home.

I went to the Filipino store to grab something for lunch and I was about to pay when they told me they only accept cash. Bummer! I didn’t have cash with me; I usually don’t have cash anyway because I often use my credit or debit cards every time I make purchase. I think it’s very unfortunate for some businesses especially those who are small business to not to have a POS Credit Card Processing machine because that’s definitely one of the reasons why they’ll lose their customers. I hope they’ll make some changes when it comes to payment processing that way they’ll gain more customers.

Just like in my case, when I went to the Filipino store and I found out that they don’t accepts cards for payments I left and they didn’t make any profit from me. There are also stores that have POS credit card processing machines but then they set a minimum purchase to be able to pay debit or credit cards. Like for instance, I went to the bakery store the other day and I was told to purchase at least $10 of pastries or breads for me to be able to use my cards as my medium of payments. That weird but they said that it’s the bank policy or something like that.

Bouncy bounce

It’s Saturday and taking the kids to the park was such an extraordinary idea. Though my children play at the park quite often but today were a steal of enjoyment because one of my children was able to play in the kid’s party jumps at the beach this afternoon. We didn’t know that there was an event going on at the beach, I just happened to pass by after I dropped of my husband to work. My son had so much fun bouncing inside the party jumps. It was his first time and he wasn’t hesitant to try it. I can tell that my son’s social skills are very much improving. He is not shying away from the other kids anymore. He has willing attitude to try things out. My daughter on the other hand, she was scared, so, she stayed with me and we watch her big brother playing the bouncy bounce. Most of the plays were free and there was free face paintings too. It was fun, and even I myself had fun despite of not having our lunch yet at that time.

When it comes to cowboy boots, I know that they can be crafted from many different types of leathers and can have all kinds of fancy embroidery, gold, gems, and even diamonds if you can afford it. I've seen my share of western cowboy boots. I personally don't own a pair of cowboy boots but would love to own my own pair some day. My husband say's he knows one of his co-workers has a pair of cowboy boots that are made from real alligator skin. My husband told me that his co-worker paid a lot of money for those boots and they are very comfortable. I'm sure they would last a long time because alligator skin is tough and strong.

Another kind of cowboy boot that I know of that is tough and strong is the corral boots. They are made in the same state that cowboys came come and that is Texas. Corral boots are very popular and know for quality material, durability, craftsmanship and many different designs. Cowboys boots are very versatile and can be worn with many different clothes. I'm used to seeing cowboy boots worn with jeans and a long sleeve shirt but they can also be dressed up, worn with an evening gown and jewels, or one of your best tux. Being that cowboy boots are usually made of leather, once they are broken in they usually increase in value to the owner and become priceless making them a true investment. Maybe if I'm fortunate, some day I can own a pair of these famous boots.

Ironing mode

Oh boy! Excuse my rant guys…. Well, today I decided to iron all the clothes piled up in the basket. I think the last time I ironed was months ago. There weren’t a lot of clothes though, I only ironed the clothes for the meeting and the rest were folded right after I washed and dried them. I had to sit down while ironing because I have problem with my heel and I’m not allowed to stand on my feet for hours because it’ll hurt. I don’t want to go through any excruciating pain again. After I finished ironing, I decided to sort out all of my children’s toys. I wanted to throw away some of their stuffs that weren’t used, especially those stuff toys sitting outside the patio. I threw away some of the broken toys and car tracks that I thought annoying. It took me hours to finish it. I put all those stuff toys on the side street including 2 bags full of clothes that I saved from the past. I know somebody will pick it up and make good use of it instead of dumping them all in the trash barrel. Tonight, I’m having back pain from all of the bending down I did this afternoon. Ouch! My back hurts. And guess what? All the stuffs I placed on the side street were all gone. Cool!

Lapel pin in Spanish

We went to the grocery store the other day and we walked by the food stand where there were food samples for their latest can goods and lapel pins for keepsake. There was no person watching the food stand and my husband grabbed two lapel pins that say “Cacirque – Tu Eres Nuestra Insperacion Autentica” (photo above), we don’t even understand what it means but my husband still gave it to my children and pinned it on their shirts. It’s funny because he took it without asking any associates in the store and he can’t even understand the phrase. My husband is so silly.

When my husband grabbed a few of those lapel pins he hastily walked towards me. Then I saw a kid grabbed some too, he probably thought it was ok because he saw my husband grabbed some. Even though those lapel pins were for free, it’s still not nice to get it without asking. Anyhow, I am curious about the phrase, I wonder what that means. I have some Spanish friends and I will show it to them and ask them what it means. Do you speak Spanish? If so, maybe you can translate it for me? Feel free to leave your comment below this article. Hubby wants to go to DisneyWorld someday

We’ve been to Disneyland a few months ago and it was our first time to go there. It was an amazing experienced; I love the parade and the fireworks. I must say, without those events I mentioned above, I don’t think our Disneyland tour would be a memorable experienced. I’m not so much with the rides; I was really looking forward to see many Disneyland characters that I know of since I was a child. It was funny because when we first got there, at the entrance; my husband was looking for the Castle because he thought that the castle is standing right at the entrance. He was a little bit disappointed at that time.

He wasn’t satisfied with the fact that the castle cannot be found at the entrance, he insisted. I told him; maybe he had seen it at DisneyWorld and not at the Disneyland. The castle at the Disneyland is located at the heart (right on the middle of the Disneyland map) of the park. He then acknowledged his mistake and told me that he wants to go to the DisneyWorld someday. Well, if that’s the case, we have to book at Disney resorts Orlando so it’ll be closer to the DisneyWorld park for our accommodation.

When I saw this picture at one of my best friend’s photo album in her facebook account, I was shocked. I told her it’s nice to see our old pictures. I think we were 5th grader at that time. It was that time when I first had my first crush and he’s in the picture. He is the cutest and good looking in our generation so to speak. My best friend said that she didn’t upload that picture; it was tagged to her by our male classmate to. Whenever I see this picture I remember my elementary days. Those were the days! I miss my friend

I miss my friend cc. She was the one who patiently taught me how to drive for 2 hours. She had me drive from the start to finish of our driving lesson. It was for free of course and I am so thankful because she was so calm and patient, which helped me not to get nervous behind the wheels. Anyway, so much for that driving lesson thing because I’m already an official CA driver for over a month now. I was looking at our phones and I saw my friend cc, I missed her. I wonder how she’s been doing now. I haven’t called her and I haven’t heard anything from her for months now.

She and her husband went to Hawaii for a two weeks vacation. She said that the beaches over there are so good and people are friendly. She said that they stayed in a hotel nearby Maui Condos and she thought, it would be nice to get a place over there. They love the tropical weather. They were telling us to visit Hawaii particularly in Maui because it’s really nice over there. She said that there are a lot of Filipinos over there. I would love to see Hawaii someday!

Talking about their dream job

My children and I were coming home from school; we commute that day because my husband drove the van. There were students in the bus talking about their dream job, one of the girls said; she wants to become a lawyer. The guy said he wants to become a nurse, while the other girl said she wants to become an IT technician and database designer. I was impressed with those students because they have goals in life and they’re probably doing well in school. I thought about the girl who wants to become a database designer, I’m sure whenever she achieved her dream it won’t be hard for her to get the Database Designer Jobs because professions that has something to do with information technology is highly in-demand these days. I heard they get good paychecks!

Driving a lot today

I drove a lot today and it really wore me out, not to mention that I have my children with me and getting on and off the van can be very exhausting especially when one of them was so uncooperative. I went to get some stuff for my laundry after I drop off my husband to work. I also stopped by at the JCP store to see if they still have flip flops displays for my son. Its seasonal products and I can understand if stores won’t sell it anymore. Well, technically it’s fall/autumn but here in San Diego, it feels like summer still. The weather is weird, it’s warm and since we always go anywhere during the day I thought getting my son a quality flip flops would be a great idea. He has those beach flip flops but he’s having hard time wearing those because it’s too light. He’s outgrowing most of his footwear. My kids are getting big and I can’t hide the fact that they need some new stuff.

I’m talking to my sister online right now and she was asking me about when I will send my daughter to preschool. I told her that we have plans for her next year. I will try to register him at the VIP preschool where my eldest was at during his preschool age. I don’t have to buy any preschool supplies for my daughter because last year, I bought all kinds of preschool supplies for our son but then he didn’t even use them. The school provides its own school supplies for their students. Same thing with kindergartens, our son’s school supplies weren’t in use.

My husband and I are so looking forward for our daughter journey to school. We know that she’ll enjoy it because whenever she sees her big brother at school, she feels a little bit of jealousy. We actually bought a backpack for her because she always takes her brother’s backpack. And whenever we go pick her big brother up at school, she’ll sneak up on me, she’ll ran towards the classroom door and grab whatever she sees on the shelves and cubby. My daughter just turned 2 but we can see determination in her eyes. She already knows her alphabets and numbers from 1-2o and she is learning some phonetics as well as shapes.

I am seeing all kinds of rumors or viral messages about facebook implementing some fees to all users on my facebook wall. Most of my friends copied and pasted information that goes like this

Please pass this message if not your count will be deleted. p.s, this is serious the icon turns blue, so please put this as your status"

I was in doubt about this information so I went ahead and search it online. I found out that this information is false and it’s just another exaggerated rumor that is not true. Well, I’m not really concerned about it because if the rumor is true then that will give a reason to stop social networking online. And besides it’s taking too much of my time and instead of doing something relevant I find my self spending hours checking my friend’s status and pictures. I have a former high school friend who is now residing in Calgary, Alberta Canada. She works for Tim Hortons Company as a sales associate. We keep in touch once in awhile and we share some stories about ourselves and experiences. I was reading an article Rent Calgary at http://www.rentcalgary.com/ when I thought about her. I knew she’s in Calgary but I’m not quite sure about her specific address. I think she’s renting a house. She told me one time, if I want to come and visit her she’ll accommodate me and tour me around their city. That would be cool.

I’ve never actually dreamt of going to Canada but if given the chance, why not? I would love to see her aside from the country where she’s living at. It’s been a long time since we saw each other. I wish the best for her and hopefully she’ll find her man soon. She’s looking for her true love and she told me that she’s tired of the on and off relationship, she wants to settle down and create a family of her own. She longed to have a child/children, I told her that she needs to work on it because she’s not getting any younger. We just laughed!

She’s living a better life now

My aunt arrived in Texas last year 2010. She was petitioned by her daughter (my cousin) and it didn’t take long for her to get approved. Many of my relatives in the Philippines thought she won’t get approved because of her health issues but they were all wrong because she’s here in the United States of America now. When she got here, I guess my cousin sought a professional help from a nutritional counseling austin for her mom to be able to start living a healthy lifestyle. I saw her recent photos and she look 10 years younger and she gained a little weight which is great. Her face is glowing and she seemed to be well adjusted already. I’m happy for my aunt. It’s sad though because a year before she made it here my uncle passed away.

Officially Fall/Autumn

Today is the first day of autumn where leaves start to fall. I’ve seen some friends sharing some photos from their neighborhood with lots of yellow, brown and read leaves falling all over the ground. It starts getting cold too and that’s probably why most of the people get sick. Like me, my sinusitis is dragging me down and my children have on and off cough and cold. I guess it’s about time for me to put out all our winter clothes because it’s going to be cold pretty soon!

Don’t you agree on that saying? I just got an iPhone 4 and I’ve been downloading all kinds of apps. One of the apps that I love the most is called “Photo Faces” where I get to make really funny pictures (funny pictures and videos) using the app’s funny and silly props. A few of the faces I’ve created were the photos above. I’m pretty sure by now that you are already giggling and laughing while looking at those faces. I think the funniest were my son and my husband. Every time I look at my husband’s face I laughed out laud. I showed it to my husband last night and he said that’s “hilarious”.

I have to tell you up front that it’s been a while that haven’t laughed out laud. I used to laugh to the point where I accidentally peed on my underwear, but that was a long time ago with my colleagues during my high school and college years. I really miss those days. I do laugh once in awhile don’t get me wrong, but laughing like crazy? I don’t even remember when the last time I laughed like a crazy human being was. We all need to laugh in someway because laughter is really therapeutic and scientifically healthy for us individual.

My miscarriage experienced

I have a total of 3 pregnancies but only two were born. My first pregnancy was such a traumatic experienced for me. I was 12 weeks then when I had miscarriage and it was only 5th months since I arrived here in America. I didn’t have any health insurance at that time yet and I don’t have any closed friends or relatives here with me to guide me with my pregnancy except for my husband. Since day one that my husband and I found out we were pregnant, I had plenty of unpleasant symptoms such as severe pregnancy cramping, headache, dizziness, and I also had weird and painful palpitation right on my lower abdomen (left side). I remember my headache was excruciating, especially when I’m inside the car.

I started spotting some blood nearly 12 weeks of my pregnancy and I went to the emergency hospital for that, I was so scared. The emergency doctor told me that the baby is doing OK, but whenever I have severe bleeding I have to go back to the hospital immediately. Night before my 12 weeks of pregnancy, we went for grocery shopping and the cramping had gotten worse as I got home. I tried to rest but I couldn’t sleep from pain. A few minutes after my husband left for work I started to bleed heavily and I was tossing and turning, having hot flashes and there were blood clots continuously coming out. That’s when I realize that I was going to loose my baby. I called my husband and we went to the hospital. My bleeding at that time was already crazy. To make the long story short, I had miscarriage. It was sad!

My aunt just arrived in Texas a few days ago and I can’t wait for my goodies from my parents back home. My aunt phoned me last night and she said that she’s tired and having some jetlags. She’s also adjusting for the time, for now she’s experiencing nocturnal episodes where she’s wide awake at night and sleeping in the morning. Sometimes I worry for her because she’s living alone and she just had her major surgery. I hope everything is well for her and of course I can’t wait to receive my goodies. She didn’t bring a lot of goodies from the Philippines because she feared that she might have problem with her health carrying heavy loads.

Not all moving companies are the same

When I think about the process of moving from one place to another, it makes me cringe because I have to think about all the time I have to spend moving all the rooms full of furniture and it's down a large flight of stairs. That doesn't even include all the time having to pack everything and put it in boxes. I always thought about hiring someone to do the moving for me since it would make it much easier on me and my husband. I found all kinds of moving companies online but the one that really stuck out in my mind was at http://www.meatheadmovers.com/Movers/San-Diego-County.aspx. I experienced moving to another apartment and it was hard because I was 8 months pregnant at that time. Just imagine what and how I went through with my big belly sticking out. Gladly, we have some friends who helped us out.

They are called meathead movers and what’s really unique about this moving company is that they are giving back to the local community in countless ways. What a great idea. I live somewhere in Chula Vista and I checked their website to see if they have an office near us. Guess what? They do have an office in Chula Vista, which is cool. I dream of owning an authentic gold and diamond watch

So much emphasis is placed on rings or necklaces that perhaps most of us women forget about the importance of owning such a fancy and elegant womens watches.Well, I think one of the ideas behind a women's watch is for us to be able to look nice, fashionable and most important thing is for us to be aware of the time it is whenever curious. LOL! For me, I don't like to wear a watch that is bulky or unattractive. In many instances, I’ve seen some ladies watches worn at any formal or informal events that are very nice which made feel a little bit of jealousy because unfortunately I don’t have a fancy watch like theirs.

I have to admit that jewelry is no stranger for me; it is very desirable to think the fact that I am capable of accessorizing myself with some nice fashionable watch or jewelries in general. Basically, I love to compliments my outfit with some appealing timepiece watch that can match all of the other pieces of jewelry being worn on any given day. I personally like gold; I wear a gold watch as one of my favorite style. It has a night light that I can use at night time to let me know what time it is. It's a couple of years old but hasn't failed me once. I enjoy my watch.

My new toy! I rarely appreciate gadgets and when I do I tried to keep it nice and treated it like my own baby. My first toy that I enjoyed playing the most was my professional camera (dslr), unfortunately unforeseen occurrence occurred and I broke it. I mourn for months and learned to let go of my emotions. Recently my husband bought me an iPhone4 and I love it. Now I have another toy and I bought a nice and girly accessory for it. It’s cute. Isn’t it?

Purchased jumpsuits

I found a few girls clothes stores here in San Diego that sells very affordable girls stuff, they're actually my favorite stores since then. They always have stylish clothing for each season and that’s where I bought my daughter’s fashionable outfits. Recently I purchased jumpsuits for my daughter. I purposely bought jumpsuits because my daughter has a "not so good habits" and that none other than sticking her hands inside her diaper. I was so desperate to break her habit and I’ve read an article online about toddlers who has the same habit as my daughter. Some moms suggested letting the child wear overall clothes, onesies or jumpsuits that way they can’t stick their hands inside their diaper.

That was a great idea and it works pretty well for my daughter. The photo above is one of the jumpsuits I recently purchased from one of my favorite stores. I love it because it looks very chic. At night time I had her wear overall clothes. She did a few attempts of picking on her diaper and I can see the frustration in her face and eventually gave up. I hated it because she doesn’t care sticking her hands-in even if it’s soiled diaper. There were few incidents where she potty and took her diaper off, the worst thing was that she was walking around the house naked with dirty hands (you know what I mean?). Terrible two's is what they call it.
